Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all cruisers of the NATION OF WHY NOT is the foundation of fun, exploration and discovery in the world around us,
Whereas disregard and contempt for cruisers rights have resulted in ridiculous marketing acts of inferior cruise products which have outraged the conscience of the Travel Agent, and the advent of a world in which cruisers shall enjoy the freedoms of the NATION OF WHY NOT and has been proclaimed as the highest aspiration of the common cruising passenger,
Whereas it is essential, if a future passenger is not to be compelled to have recourse, as a last resort, to rebellion against boring and inactive cruise lines, that cruisers rights should be protected by the NATION OF WHY NOT,
Whereas it is essential to promote the development of friendly relations between the NATION OF WHY NOT and all cruise passengers,
Whereas the passengers of the NATION OF WHY NOT have in the Charters reaffirmed their faith in fundamental cruising rights, in the dignity and worth of the passenger and in the equal rights of all cruisers young and old and have determined to promote fun and better standards of cruising with a larger freedom of choice,
Whereas all vessels in the NATION OF WHY NOT have pledged themselves to achieve, in co-operation with the NATION OF WHY NOT, the promotion of universal respect for and observance of cruiser rights and the fundamental freedom of Why Not?,
Whereas a common understanding of these rights and freedoms is of the greatest importance for the full realization of this pledge,
Now, Therefore the NATION OF WHY NOT proclaims THIS UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF CRUISERS RIGHTS as a common standard of achievement for all cruisers and of all nations, to the end that every Travel Agent, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind, shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive advertising measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the passengers of The Nation of Why Not themselves and among the future cruisers of the seas under their jurisdiction.
