Appreciating The People In Your Life
Give Gratitude A Personal Perspective

During Thanksgiving season, the spirit of gratitude fills the fall air. While we all have plenty for which to be thankful, I like to take the occasion to celebrate the people in my life. Thanksgiving is one of the few times each year my whole family comes together, so we like to give a special twist to the before-dinner tradition of saying what we are thankful for. We reflect on how we've inspired and supported each other in the past year, and what we share has to be about someone who is present in the room with us.

Last year, my daughter, Karin, said she was thankful for her brother Brent and the inspiring resilience he showed to achieve a big goal of his. He came up with the idea for a talent competition similar to American Idol, for students at his college, called Berkeley Star. The first year was a resounding success, with 12 finalists performing for more than 1,200 students. Best of all, over $25,000 was raised for the Boys and Girls Club of Oakland. We were all very proud of him and it was so nice to see that my children were still inspiring each other, even as their own lives take root across the country.

I might not be sharing the table with you at Thanksgiving this year, but I want each of you to know how much I value your partnership. There's not a day I come into work without remembering some of the incredible stories we're creating together. There are countless unforgettable memories, family adventures and special moments your clients have enjoyed on our ships, thanks to your loyal support and professional guidance.

Pass your feelings of gratitude on to others this holiday season. Think of little (or big) ways to make your colleagues, business partners and clients feel appreciated. Even something as simple as writing a thoughtful note on a holiday card can have a big impact they'll remember for years to come.

Thank you so much. I know that our success goes hand in hand with yours. If you'd like to learn more about how Royal Caribbean is celebrating Thanksgiving, visit LoyaltoYouAlways.com/thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Vicki
PS: If you happen to be in the Berkeley area, the second annual Berkeley Star is this December 5th. You can bet there will be a ton of talent on display while supporting a good cause.
